On the night of January 14–15, 2026, the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) conducted a high-profile raid at a farmhouse in Ode village, Umreth taluka. Police seized over 16,000 bottles of illicit liquor valued at approximately ₹43.45 lakh. Five individuals were arrested, and six vehicles used for smuggling were confiscated. The total value of the seized goods reached nearly ₹74.23 lakh.

In a major breakthrough on January 20, 2026, the Anand Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested two habitual offenders who had been absconding for 19 years. The duo was involved in a serious dacoity (armed robbery) case dating back to 2007. They were apprehended near the Chikhodra Crossing after police used technical surveillance to track them down.
